Liv Tyler is primarily known for her career as an actress and model, rather than as a professional social worker. However, she has dedicated significant time to philanthropy, activism, and charitable advocacy, which often intersect with social causes:
- UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador: Appointed as a U.S. Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF in 2003, she has supported initiatives raising awareness and funds for vulnerable children worldwide.
- Women’s & Children’s Health: She has actively promoted breast cancer awareness (such as launching charity initiatives for Breast Cancer Awareness Month) and partnered with organizations like Every Mother Counts to advocate for maternal health and support mothers.
- Charity & Community Support: Tyler has lent her platform to various nonprofits, including the Food Bank For New York City, Free Arts NYC (supporting at-risk youth through creative arts), and mental health awareness causes.
On-Screen Roles
If you are referring to her acting work, she portrayed an insightful therapist/counselor helping a patient navigate grief and trauma in the 2007 drama film Reign Over Me.
